[The reply doesn't come until much later in the day. After seeing Ecks' death notice, he's not feeling particularly interested in much.]
shelly derricks' house forget the deal already ran into the clown by accident and it's not worth it we locked him in the school and ran no idea where he went after that i sure as hell hope it's nowhere in my direction
Beyond furious. Maybe if he hadn't been on this stupid mission for House, if he hadn't been sitting around on his thumbs for the last few days at the rendezvous point, he might have been able to save Agent Carter. Never mind that he wouldn't have gone to her at all for fear of hurting her himself, that logic is lost in his anger and the paranoia that's been building here.
Had House done this deliberately in order to isolate him? Isolate Agent Carter somehow?]
[Well, that's better than nothing, at least. Anyway, he knows he's just being pissy because he's still adjusting to this madness. Having a goal of some sort would help, but "explore" is a little too vague to take the edge off his anxiety.]
Okay. I guess I'll see you when I see you, then. Be careful, please? [He does his best not to sound condescending.]
[House just rolls his eyes, gives a mock-enthusiastic thumbs up, and shuts off his tablet. He's not planning on dying for at least a few weeks, and that's only if it's unavoidable.]
[She stares at him a while longer. Partly she isn't even sure of her answer. Partly. she thinks he simply should not know the answer to something he keeps asking this way.
Finally, though, she relents.]
You are like someone I used to know, mostly in the good ways and mostly not in the bad ways.
[House reminds her of her creator - daddy. Well, that's awesome. Ecks really needs to get more of a life. House sighs, then shows her his fingers walking across his palm. It's followed up by miming eating in exaggerated fashion. He's going to get food.]
