[The network seemed to be functioning normally again, but this time, video was needed. Mycroft looks far more haggard than before, he hadn't shaved in days, but what was really different was in his eyes. He looked like a man that had his whole world turned upside-down and ripped to shreds. Though, to be fair, he was mildly recovering from that, now that Sherlock was back and alive. His issued jacket covered his rumpled suit, which had seen better days. Something odd can be seen behind him, distorted, staticky shapes.]
This is Mycroft Holmes, with news on our situation.
[House is surrounded by static creatures. He's dizzy, disoriented, and there's blood running from his nose.]
Is that news that it sucks? 'Cause I got that memo, dude. [He tries to pull himself together.] It's the static, right? How many. I've got ten of these assholes crowding around me. Ten...? [He sounds momentarily confused.] Christ, stop moving!
[Right. Their little experiment was starting to look like a bad idea. Well, it had always been a bad idea, technically.]
Ten?! How quickly have they appeared? It took me quite some time to gather three. But it started off with one.
[The way Mycroft says gather implies it was an active decision rather than something that just happened. He's walking around from room to room to avoid getting too close to them as they follow. It helped only marginally with the dizziness and disorientation, there wasn't much distance he could put between himself and them, nor could he keep up this inane pacing forever.]
They started coming right at me after that message cut off. Need to talk to Beckett.
[His voice sounds more distant, as if he's loosing the train of thought.]
Need to get away from these goddamn things. I can't think. [It may be a familiar complaint, even if it's from an unfamiliar person.]
Need to check with Beckett. He got it carved in, too. Might be attracted. But I cut it off. [A pause.] Left some other kind of signature in the nanites, maybe?
[It's a little unclear, but what else could it be? It's possible they're attracted to it. House has a bonafide swarm. Mycroft's worried even more now, what if they haven't been thinking clearly either because of their exposure to them?]
Talk to him or anyone else that received one, and I'll contact you again in an hour.
[It's not yet lockdown when Davesprite messages House, but he wanted to make sure his group was inside somewhere safe before sending it. Luckily, the bus stop was right beside it.]
no go at the sealed building i could get karkat to send you the recording but its literally just me waving the chips around and slapping them on the building and going hey open up ill keep holding onto them until we find some other use
you're right by that building, right? are you in the bus station for the night? you guys should totally break your tablets, get the cloak guy to come and follow him it's close enough you'll probably survive long enough blondie said it was heading southeast in the industrial area 10-to-1 says it was headed right for our sealed building buddy
id give karkat a heart attack if i so much as said hey lets try this patently dangerous idea that just got most of the people on yesterdays obit killed and the cat would maul me unconscious before i could wedge my tablet in the door
so you'd rather she wander around with a messed up hand that'll probably get frostbitten and/or go gangrene and have to get cut off before it kills her? harsh, bro
