forget the bunker for now we need the key before it's relevant what else have you found?
[After the chat with Will, House is feeling a little more focused and much more himself. He'd spent the morning lashing out at everyone. Sylar isn't a particularly appetizing target when he's treating things as they should be: like that never happened.]
[ He is entirely fine with not making a big deal about it, so maybe this'll be a relatively pleasant conversation. He wishes he had more info for the guy, though. ]
Not a hell of a lot, unfortunately. Turns out we were following behind Vanitas for a couple days. We're going to try and hit the areas no one's looked at yet. It's probably just going to be more snow, but at least we can see where we're going now.
Really hoping the password at the school opens up the rest of the locked-up places. But of course, that would mean we're lucky for once.
what exactly makes you think the guy we wake up is gonna be any less ignorant? they're all coming from the same server we've talked to people who got possessed by the data ghosts we've talked directly to them in some ocean dream weirdness not seeing the major variation other than you get to die and say you did something when you're going stir crazy here
but hey your life, kid where am i meeting you? gotta ditch the narcs
No, I definitely want to learn more. I figure while I'm a kid, people are being nicer to me, anyway. It sounds like I'm kind of a jerk when I grow up. So, I can take advantage of it right now, at least, to learn as much as I can and maybe try some different things.
[Is that bad? It's certainly mercenary, but it's logical and practical.]
Good idea. Definitely take advantage while you've got the time to do it. And- for as bad as this place is? There's some really good, helpful people in it, from places that are better from where I came from- and probably where you came from, too. No one's gonna blame you because your older self pushes people away.
[ And it's not like Gabriel blames House for that, either. He thinks it's pretty easy to get to a place where you don't trust anyone at all. ]
Have you been learning anything new? I mean, I guess Rhys is a druid, so that'd be new for me.
[Why does nobody ever see what he sees? He's disappointed, he thought Greg might at least follow the whole train of thought rather than being derailed by the events of the past.]
The building directly east of the park in the initial residential zone.
I'm sure if you actually apply some thought, you might deduce why this is a worthwhile experiment.
i know why you think it's worthwhile i just don't think it's gonna work but you're taking a risk good for you i encourage my staff to always think outside the box
[Outside the box just doesn't usually include their imminent demise with his assistance.]
I know that you also see merit in it, or you wouldn't have agreed to come. Even you are not such a bad doctor that you actively seek out people to assist in killing.
[There's not much to say over text here, so House just hangs up and starts making plans to ditch Wilson and Stephen... and steal Wilson's Vicodin first.]
southern edge of the map's looking unexplored or right up north of the church
and nothing's that easy there's a fireplace that wants "SACRIFICE" near the church, too maybe go add your blood there i can transfer my eye app to you and you'll need to rebuild the fire since it went out hoping this "sacrifice" is cumulative and we don't need a revolving door of people coming in and out of there while it's going
i'm guessing the fire gets us into the church church gets us to the high school high school gets us to the bunker
Damn, we were there yesterday. At least if it's one of those houses that's just a living room and a fireplace, and there were arcs of eyes drawn everywhere. Never would've thought of bleeding on a fire.
But yeah, you're probably right. That definitely sounds like part of the puzzle. We'll loop around back that way.
Look, believe it or not I do have better things to do than chase you down. You couldn't have lasted another week? You were in the home stretch, asshole.
[House narrows his eyes at his tablet, not that Stephen can see.]
who said i'm not lasting i told you i don't need you for this anymore 1-month supply 80 mg/day 20 mg used this morning otherwise untouched and i haven't had my evening dose
[The message comes accompanied by a short video clip. House shows Stephen the label on the bottle he's taken. It's one prescribed to Sylar by House. He pops the top and dumps the pills out before arranging them meticulously in neat little rows. There are precisely 1 month's worth of pills minus the noted two tablets for the 20 mg.]
[ In fact, Gabriel's a little jealous. Al was a huge font of knowledge, but they've talked his world over a lot. It was to the point that even Gabriel thought he should cool it a bit. Maybe he can find out an excuse for his group to hang out with Rhys and Flynn later. ]
I never did get into other languages- I always focused on the sciences when I'd study something. And hieroglyphics seem more interesting, too...I wonder if we could get Flynn to run on-network classes or something. Eh, that'd probably be too much work while we're trying to survive, but it'd be fun.
[ And older House might be able to enjoy them from the background, if he hasn't already learned that stuff. ]
We can use as much fun as we can get around here, honestly.
Being bored is the worst. [House readily agrees to that.] I usually have to find things to do, but this is great. I can ask him if he wants to do it. It's not like we have a lot to do after lockdown, right?
[ Ugh. Okay, that's going to be a problem. Especially that whole part where he promised Al he wouldn't get himself killed again. It takes him awhile before he replies. ]
I'll just not mention that part to Al.
I know it's practically asking for an anomaly, but we could all gather there and 'donate' as a large group. That might do it. Maybe dying to anomaly versus definitely dying- the first one seems like a better deal.
But if we're desperate for blood, I'll do it. Seems important.
no what we need is a fire keeper multiples thereof someone stays and tends the fire other people bring things to burn along with a pint of blood each our fire keeper hits three days someone takes their place rotate it people come in and feed the fire fire keepers keep it going between more logistically complicated but anomalies are a bitch and a half to deal with in packs
Yeah, I seem to remember that being a problem when you were getting through the museum.
So that's definitely a better plan. You want to organize it? We'll definitely be on board to switch out with someone else as a firekeeper. There's a house close by that'll make it easier to spread out without too many people in one spot.
