Check the far corner if you can. When we stayed there we left the wrappings from our food there, some of it might burn. There might even be a stray piece of paper or two, Frisk had paper to draw on and they may have left behind some.
Is it affected at all by the light from the tablets, or is it only natural light that keeps it away?
Yeah, that's not happening. Outside the light, get the bite. It's the new catchphrase here in Snowhell. No idea if they're responding to the fire or the tablets, but we're keeping both on.

The tablets are going to be your best bet. Here, I've got some white things in my bag, I think.
[His thought being, if he leaves his tablet recording something white, that will provide better light for House. Well, marginally better, it's not like he has a flashlight to really light up the room he is in or anything.]
Burning your cane would make it much harder for you to get around.
[Though that's probably better than dying, admittedly.]
I haven't had enough time to study the anomalies yet to know if my methods are effective or not, so unfortunately my prayers probably won't be of any use to you. Sorry.
