I think you have some kind of strange aversion to just asking for what you want. You still haven't. You would rather put people's lives in danger rather than just suck it up and try to get a straightforward answer out of someone, like the adult that you keep insisting you are.
[Sadly the reference doesn't catch on Clayton's alternate universe ears, but the deliberate petulance does.]
You risked MN poisoning on Rhys just to spite him. You just said earlier that you sent a 10-year-old to do a man's job--because if you were a real man, you would have just come here and asked for the pills yourself to begin with.
That's still an option. I'm at the clinic. Come here, ask for them like a reasonable human being, and I'll give them back. That's literally all you ever had to do.
it was really more to spite you don't really care about go go gadget also you're really going for the "if you were a real man" thing? yeah, definitely trying for the dad option
the point is i shouldn't have to ask for them back you shouldn't have had them in the first place but you decided you needed to whine to madame port head or someone else in earshot why do the dirty work when you get told no if you can inspire the younger, impressionable generation to do it for you? just taking a leaf out of your book clay
If you had bothered to ask, I could have told you that you've misunderstood.
I told Angel not to take them from you. I chewed her out for thinking that you would have kept them just to be an ass to Rhys. I have the conversation still to prove it, if you want to see. I would've sent them straight back with Dumpy if Rhys didn't need them, and the only reason I haven't now is because you're proving Angel right. How am I supposed to convince her to stop stealing your pills from the caves if I can't convince her anymore that you deserve them?
by telling her it's not her goddamn decision if i deserve the medicine that lets me function if that's not enough of a reason for her then she's a vindictive asshole and can laugh herself all the way to the admin's doorstep when i go into withdrawal in a freaking snowhell and die because we both know i will die and while that's looking pretty good a lot of the time here dehydration, hypothermia, shock, and drowning in my own vomit are really crap ways to go out because we don't have the right meds, staff, or central heating for me to deal with detoxing
[He's rather terrified of the prospect, but certainly isn't going to say as much. Clayton can take from that what he will.]

[And that's what Clayton's banking on. He knows it'll happen eventually, that break--and based on how insistent House has been on using his addiction and pain to keep the pills around, he can only hope that this will happen before things go too far. Withdraw chicken is a scary game.]
That's what it took to convince her the first time, yes. Funny how she won't believe me now that you're following her ideas of you instead of mine. It's almost like she won't believe that excuse anymore unless you tell her yourself or something.
[So, that's how Clayton's going to play it. Damn. He's almost better than Wilson. It's impressive.]
well i guess we'll see if it even matters here in a few days probably should let someone know i'll be tying myself up in the morgue overnight might die but hey at least i'll be in the right place miri and i were wondering what would happen with my leg if i bit it guess we'll find out if i come back might not even need the meds after that
[He'd been planning on waiting, actually, to get Rydia's handcuffs, but belts and the tape he has should probably be good enough for what he needs. And there's no time to be self-destructive like the present just out of spite.]
[Clayton has to forcibly quell a wave of panic. This is deliberate, he reminds himself. Another bluff. Play along.]
What Rydia did? Well she turned out alright in the end. I would stay optimistic. If you still feel like you need them when you're done, you know where I am and you know what I'm expecting. I'm happy to give them back, House. Maybe then I can help get Angel back on your side so you can get that double payment we agreed on.
happy sure just so long as i go along with what you want you'll be happy to do anything for me
i was planning to just transmit to the elf i'm traveling with for the night while i'm in there but i'll go ahead and include you in the full thing always good to have a doctor observing talk to you later epps
[It is, unfortunately or fortunately, not a bluff.]
