[Unaware of their eavesdropper - she rather liked the Joker when she met him, anyway - Kesara continues with the same eager tone.]
It was in the school. I don't actually know if it was a real ghost, but there was a real thing, a tall thin shadow, and it really did drop this card. I lie a lot but I wouldn't lie about discoveries like this.
[Alas that he does not yet know well enough to always think she's lying. But his faith is for one justified. How rare and thrilling.]
I was only walking around - there was this feeling, you know how it feels when you can just feel eyes on the back of your neck? I looked a few times and there was nothing, until suddenly there it was. Just out of nothing! And then back to nothing as soon as it gave me the card.
[She preens - he walked right into that one - but manages to keep it brief.]
Well, everyone has that sometimes, just not - not really. But I think, maybe it came to me because I'm a child, and it was a school? I thought what was following me was the same size as me. Maybe there are ghosts there that are my age.
humble, too don't think i ever mentioned your miniature ladyship
interesting idea, though different "ghosts" respond to different people you were completely alone? or was someone in the school with you just somewhere else?
Not that. [It's a quick, somewhat unsettled correction.] I don't have any right to that. Maybe I will someday, but I have to earn it and get it fair.
[So sorry, doctor, but you are not the Queen.]
I don't know if there was anyone else in the whole school... but I was exploring alone. Oh! And I tried to write on one of the boards, the things that looked like blackboards but were white? But I think I might've broken it.
I'm not sure it was broken exactly... [She may be squirming a little. She did run away from it, and that was cowardly.] I tried to use one of my charcoals on it. It started flashing those colours, red and blue. I didn't know what that meant, and I couldn't get it to stop, so I left it like that.
might be keyed to teachers or adults i'll try writing on it the next time i have the chance at the school could also just be on lockdown if you're there again before me try different writing implements pens, markers, pencils, whatever you've got maybe try ripping it down see if there are different reactions
I don't think I can rip it, it's very large and heavy. I'll need something big to break it, like a rock... I'll bring a rock next time. [What a darling destructive child.]
Do you know what they're meant for? For writing, I mean, since they aren't really blackboards. Are they like, maybe, like our tablet screens?
[House approves of darling destructive children when the destruction is aimed at a target he'd prefer.]
usually they'd be the same as a blackboard just more modern easier to clean up erasable markers than chalk dust wouldn't be surprised if these are more advanced
think i've seen a stylus around in one of the houses it's a pen for the tablets no ink, just a plastic nib that might be what those things are designed to work with i'll keep an eye out for one might be worth it to give that a try
How is that anything like - [Kesara stops before she can get to sounding too confounded. He probably doesn't want to start explaining. She'll ask Kain later.]
Do you have a picture of this kind of stylus? I could look too. I mean, if just a nib is all you need then I'm sure I can find one, or make one... but this must be a special one.
[There's a long pause, and then there's a picture sent along with his message. It's a drawing of a standard stylus.]
basically looks like a pen plastic no ink it'll have a couple of buttons on the side that let you click up or down some are specifically keyed to only work with certain devices you can try making one but if your fingernails don't work it's a good chance we need to find an actual tablet stylus
Yes, sir. I'll look for one of those. [Another quest! She sounds eager already.] Plastic. They really make everything out of this plastic lark, don't they? No ink. Buttons. If I find it you'll be the first to know!
