[When Will didn't show up by lock down, Hannibal ate the meal he had prepared for the both of them in slow silence. He knew that Will might choose to stay with House, and had accepted it, but he still felt his friend's absence like an ache of emptiness in his chest. It was almost strong enough to distract him from the taste of blood in the back of his throat.
Almost.
He was preparing to sleep alone when House's message arrived. He read it, and frowned.
Something went wrong.]
Will is not here. I thought he stayed with you. I assume that is not the case.
I have received the message from the admin. And yes, I am tasting blood in my throat. I assume both are true of you as well.
[That's... concerning. Also mildly flattering that Hannibal thinks Will would choose him.]
not unless he's found new life as the invisible man messaged him this afternoon haven't heard anything
got the admin's message and tasting the blood, yeah we're at a year here tomorrow for the earliest arrivals watch out for anyone devolving into saying "hello world"
and keep an eye on the obits, i guess
[Hell. If Will went off and got himself killed by an anomaly...]
You will doubtless be tempted to blame me if Will's name does appear on the obituaries. I would advise you to consider that whatever Will did, it was his choice.
As for devolving, I'm not certain I understand your reference.
[On his side of the tablet, House frowns and rolls his eyes.]
i'm thinking more anomaly but thanks for the reassurances
back months ago maybe a month or two after i first got here we had a couple of messages from a previous session turn up on the network there were maybe five people three messages they started out talking normally to each other then they started to lose coherence by the third message all any of them were posting was "hello" like the standard baby's first computer program "hello world" kinda crap
You misunderstand. I was thinking anomaly as well. You may think that Will would not have encountered an anomaly, or whatever else may have detained him, had he not been following me. Again, it was his choice.
[Ah. Technology is not Hannibal's strong suit, but this makes sense.]
[Hannibal absorbs the information, sitting back for a moment, licking his lips in a gesture that shows he is unsettled. After a couple moments go by, he types a response.]
I have to find Will.
[When all is said and done, that's all that matters to Hannibal.]
no it's usually 1 to 7 days if they're gonna wake up in the near-term, though anything past that they're dead-dead or you're not seeing them for at least a month, probably

i'm a selfish, petty bastard
i'm not that kinda petty
people die here all the time
[And he's going to be incredibly upset if Will is dead, but he's logical enough to assign the blame where it's due.]
the admin terminated the session
presumably they're in the dataghost collective

checked this with the mods, as a heads up
gimme a second
[House pings the Admin, asking where Will Graham's body is. When he gets a reply back, he swears.]
he's in the police station near the entrance
the only reason the admin gives a location
is if someone's dead
god damn it
